The book is designed to appeal to several audiences, primarily mathematicians working either in group representation theory or in areas of mathematics where representation theory is involved. Parts of it may be used to introduce undergraduates to representation theory by studying the appealing pattern structure of group matrices. The discussion proceeds along the lines of the Cartan-Weyl theory via the root vectors and root diagrams and, in particular, the Dynkin representation of the roots. Thus the representations are expressed in terms of weights, which are generated by the application of the elements of the algebra on uniquely specified highest weight states.

Finite groups — Group representations are a very important tool in the study of finite groups. They also arise in the applications of finite group theory to crystallography and to geometry. If the field of scalars of the vector space has characteristic p, and if p divides the order of the group. This is a web-based text on Group Representation Theory. It begins at the undergraduate level but continues to more advanced topics. An early draft of this book was written in TeXmacs during my sabbatical at Reed College during This Book was ranked at 12 by Google Books for keyword Topology. The main topics are block theory and module theory of group representations, including blocks with cyclic defect groups, symmetric groups, groups of Lie type, local-global conjectures. This book is written primarily for physicists, but also for other scientists and mathematicians to acquaint them with the more modern and powerful methods and results of the theory of topological groups and of group representations and to show the remarkable wide scope of applications.

It is divided in two parts and the first part is only about groups though. The second part is an in.
